succession04 An example of sector planning work
As an example of technical and strategic work, we present the Development Plan for the Global Competitiveness of South Brazilian Dairy (PDCGL), produced within the South Brazilian Dairy Alliance and organized by Airton Spies. The plan is the result of a broad process of coordination between farmers, processors and the governments of the three southern states, with the aim of repositioning the dairy chain in the face of stagnation, international competition and the need for gains in scale, quality and efficiency.
The PDCGL sets out 10 strategic objectives to make southern Brazil competitive in the global dairy market, working on production cost reduction, larger production scale, sanitary standards, logistics efficiency and chain governance. It also lays down clear guidelines to raise domestic consumption, encourage exports and add value to high-value products.
The plan shows the importance of integrated, territorial planning, anchored in technical and economic data, as an essential tool for developing supply chains that are sustainable, competitive and aligned with the demands of the domestic and international markets.
